What To Look For In Nursing Tops

Stylish Nursing Tops
When you're nursing for the first time, you might need some guidance in finding the right nursing tops for you. Depending on your body type and nursing style, you have a lot of choices.

Nursing Bra Type

These nursing tops are constructed like nursing bras, with a cup that is supported by a snapped-on strap. When the strap is detached, the cup may be moved aside to allow you to nurse. These are a good option if you have a large bust and you need the additional support, or if you prefer to use a nursing cover or nurse privately, since they do not have a built-in covering for discretion.

Poncho Type

Some nursing tops are built with especially large armholes to allow nursing access. These are great for any body type; the top itself acts as a generously sized nursing cover. Unfortunately these type of nursing tops are not always very flattering; they tend to bury you in billows of fabric and conceal your figure.

Pull-Down Type

Nursing tops of this kind combine a low neckline that can be opened up with a close-fitting inner panel to allow for modesty while nursing. These tops come in many shapes and styles; you are sure to be able to find one for you. You don't necessarily need to use a nursing cover with one of these, since they are designed with discretion in mind.

Miscellaneous

There are lots more types of nursing tops, with their nursing access points located in all sorts of clever places - concealed by pleats, covered by ruffles, or otherwise disguised. These tops tend to be a little more complex, and if you are uncomfortable with the way you look, you might choose one of these for the added coverage of the complex layers they have.
